“It's so hot I could melt" said Lee, as we loaded our arms up with guitars and set off to traverse the maze of boat docks, in search of a mysterious man named Mark. We were on the brink of giving up when we were waved over to an overgrown corner of the docks, where we were met by an older burly fellow, built like he belonged in the infantry. He ushered us towards an old narrowboat, and it was then Lee and I began to doubt how on earth we were going to all fit on that thing.
After some light gymnastics, we all sat down for tea and stories. Mark told us the highlights and lowlights of his life, detailing how he began the Narrowboat Sessions: a non-profit making music project helping to raise money for cancer research. Lee and I sat down to play a few tunes and bring some awareness to the cause! Here's one of my favorites to play: “Cradling You” live, from Chirk, Wales for the 2026 Narrowboat Sessions.
